&Beyond remote Klein's Camp, on the edge of the Kuka Hills has beautiful views over their exclusive wilderness concession lies next to the vast Serengeti plains, teeming with wildlife. Here you can enjoy exceptional game viewing, night game drives, Maasai culture and safari luxury that reminds of the olden days.

Zebra and wildebeest by their thousands, fill the valleys below twice a year during their migrations following the rains and the resulting good grazing, while in the times between the migrations, resident giraffe and elephant are often see grazing on the nearby slopes.

Wildlife at Kleins Camp

Klein’s Camp lies in an area where lion, leopard and cheetah viewing can be enjoyed year-round, while huge herds of buffalo and breeding herds of elephant complete the picture.

The Great Migration, is one of the world's major wildlife spectacles, when all kinds of scavengers and predators follow the herds of millions of herbivores looking for where the grass is greener. This created a major influx of tourists during these periods and you will be wise to make your reservation long in advance if you do not want to miss this exceptionall wonderful experience.

Apart from the spectacular animal life, Klein's Camp also enjoys a diverse and prolific birdlife, with several species of raptors breeding on the cliffs in the immediate vicinity of the camp.

For the birders there are also a few species of eagles, like the Tawny, Angur Buzzard and Verreaux’s eagles that drift lazily along the rocky ridges above Klein’s. Avid birders will be interested to tick off the Pygmy Falcon, the world’s smallest bird of prey.

Guest Facilities

The guest area at Klein's Camp has a swimming pool that overlooks the distant hills. The interior of the guest area features views over breathtaking panoramas and fireplaces during cooler times.

A day at Kleins Camp

Morning Game Drive

The day starts early when you are woken up for the morning's hot drinks and biscuits and rusks before embarking on the early game drive. Having a little chat with your driver and tracker before the actual trip starts, prepare you for what may be seen and experienced for the day. That also offers the opportunity to let them know what you would like to see that day. During the Great Migration, your guide will attempt to bring you within sight of massed herds. Normally you will also stop somewhere for a cup of coffee or tea during the morning drive.

Breakfast

Fresh from the game drive, and by now a little bit hungry, a wonderful breakfast awaits you with a wide choice of traditional breakfast dishes and drinks.

Lunch

After breakfast, you have free time to explore the camp and the luxury accommodation offered by Kleins Camp, or you can spend time with friends at the comfortable guest areas discussing the morning's wildlife experiences.

An interesting possibility is to walk off your breakfast on a bush walk in the vicinity of the camp, accompanied by your guide before getting back to enjoy a selection of lunch platters

Afternoon Tea

After lunchtime, take a swim in the camp's pool or indulge in a siesta, then, over late afternoon tea, you can discuss the possibilities that may present itself during the afternoon game drive.

Afternoon Game Drive

Once it is cooler, you set out on the afternoon game drive to see the herds head out to drink before settling down for the night, watch the predators warming up for the night's hunting. Stop at a scenic spot for sundowners. As &Beyond Klein's Camp is situated in their own wildlife concession area, it is the only place in the Serengeti where night drives can be arranged.

Dinner

After a very satisfying time in the bush, you return to camp and a wonderful, welcome meal in the open dining area.

All rates are inclusive of VAT and in US Dollars.
Accommodation rates are per person per night sharing, except for the Family Cottage rates that are per cottage per night.
Long-Stay Rates: May be applied for a combination of &Beyond lodges in Africa (subject to seasonal availability of the offer), for the same guests on a single itinerary. These cannot be used in conjunction with any other &Beyond offers, including Signature offers.
Single Supplement: High Season: A single supplement of 50% applies to all single rooms. Remainder of year: A single supplement of 25% applies to all single rooms.
All Tourism services are levied with an 18% Value Added Tax
Children under the age of 16 sharing with 1 or 2 adult are charged 50% of the adult rate. This is subject to the availability of triple rooms.
Private 4x4 safari vehicles can be pre-booked at Klein’s Camp at additional cost and subject to availability
National park fees are not included in the above mentioned rates - these are charged per 24-hour period

Children at Kleins Camp

Travel to Tanzania is recommended for children 8 years or older. When available, booking an exclusive use safari vehicle means that game drives can be tailored for the shorter attention span of younger children, leaving and coming back to the lodge at any time. A swimming pool is available for families to enjoy

The lodge has one family suite that can accommodate two adults and two children. A limited number of triple rooms are also available. This means that, should parents wish to share a room with younger children, an additional bed will be set up in the parents’ room for children 16 years or younger.

When not using an exclusive use vehicle, game drives are available to children aged twelve years and older. Children aged six to twelve are permitted on game drives at the lodge manager’s discretion. While children younger than six cannot participate in game drives, childminders can be arranged during game drives and meal times at an additional cost.

Designed especially for children visiting &Beyond’s lodges, WILDchild is a filled with fun, interactive activities that offer opportunities to learn and discover new experiences and cultures. On arrival at Klein's Camp, each child will receive a WILDchild branded bag containing a logbook, crayons, pencils and a pawprint tattoo. There is a personalised welcome note for every child, with those under three getting an African-themed soft toy as well.

A VISIT TO CULTURAL AUTHENTIC MAASAI BOMA

If you are interested in the cultural traditions that enabled the local Maasai people to survive in this area, you can visit an authentic Maasai village, where you will be invited into a Maasai home for a glimpse into their daily life.

The traditions and ways of the Maasai have remained largely unchanged for centuries.
