Londolozi Private Game Reserve, in the wider Sabi Sand Reserve, is a great example of the efforts of pioneers who saw the practices of reckless hunting inevitably resulting in the demise of all the wonderful animals and other wildlife of South Africa's wild areas.

They realized something must be done and that something was conservation and protection. True to that dream of protection, the name Londolozi was chosen. It is a Zulu word that means "protector of all living things".

Sabi Sand's Relationship with the Kruger Park.

Since the Sabi Sand private game reserve and the Kruger Park dropped all fences between them, the animals gained a very large extra grazing areas, the owners of the different private game reserves got the task of preserving large tracks of land where, up to that point in time, hunting still took place. The Kruger Park did not want to have their game hunted by anyone, so the owners had to do away with all hunting. This was the beginning of what later evolved into a number of places where you can enjoy your best african safari vacations, thanks to the Kruger Park and a number of private game reserve owners.
