Arathusa Safari Lodge
Arathusa Safari Lodge is situated in Mpumalanga, South Africa, within the northern sector of the Sabi Sand Reserve, adjacent to the Kruger National Park. This region has a long and reputable history within the South African tourism industry due to the presence of high concentrations of wildlife, which is accessible by means of quality private game safaris. The Lodge is on a 868ha property. Game drives however, take place over an area of approximately 4000ha - due to reciprocal agreements with neighbouring landowners. The solitude enjoyed during game drives is not affected by this arrangement.
Arathusa Safari Lodge has an intimate and hospitable camp, the use of natural fabrics and classic interior design ensures a simple and elegant experience.
The lodge overlooks a large waterhole where guests are often treated myriad sightings of game that comes to drink. (Please note that not all accommodation has views of the waterhole. Please enquire when booking).
In keeping with the traditional and natural safari experience, there are no televisions in the rooms at Arathusa. Guests are, however, able to send or receive e-mails and faxes from the reception area.
The main living area is intended for comfort. The warmth and charm of our camp's environment is the foundation of the Arathusa safari experience.
The infinity swimming pool overlooks the waterhole, and is the perfect spot for wildlife viewing while cooling off on a sweltering African summer's afternoon.
Guests can enjoy an alfresco dining experience in the traditional open-air boma (a brick & grass enclosed dining area), while being serenaded by the sounds of Africa's creatures. Sumptuous cuisine is the order of the day.
Our Spa offers guests a comprehensive spa and wellness experience - indulge in luxurious pampering and relaxation, while answering to the call of the wild.
We offer nine thatched-roofed standard rooms within our perimeters. Each room has an en-suite bathroom, with a bath, shower and outdoor shower. The verandah offers relaxing views of the surrounding veld. Twin rooms may also be arranged.
Additional amenities include a mini bar, an electronic safe, hairdryer, air conditioning, direct-dial telephone, mosquito net and tea/ coffee making facilities.
Arathusa's four luxury rooms have all the comforts and amenities of our standard rooms, with the addition of their own plunge pools and lounge areas. These exclusive rooms are located further from the main camp to afford guests privacy.
Game drives, in an open safari vehicle, are conducted daily in the early morning and late afternoon in search of animals - both large and small.
Experienced rangers and local trackers ensure a first class safari experience. While on safari, visitors can expect to see a large variety of wildlife - including the Big Five.
